The darkness the other day made it kind of difficult to do anything about replacing everything the earthquake broke. It was a busy week of not-so-natural disasters... the rain was a mere inconvenience, but the earthquake was a rude reminder of how unpleasant this place can be. Aside from having a lot of cleaning to do, and a lot of dishes to buy, everything's fine over here... and by and large, considering the fact that we had an earthquake, most of the people coming in to the hospital weren't too badly hurt.
I guess it could have been a problem if you're afraid of the dark... terror of the unknown, and all that. I never have been... not even when I was little.
Besides. We've had things like that before-- fog, a while back. That arena showed up the next day, though I haven't seen anything new now. Curses are curses; the bright side is, no matter how awful they are, they never last.

"Jesus," he hissed, jumping. By the time he'd noticed the little patch of darkness, Demyx was already stepping out of it. And really, it's fortunate for the Nobody that Deb lives in the apartment (most of the time,) and thus he doesn't have any convenient weapons stowed in the room. ~~At least, nothing easy to get at.~~

"Are you insane?" Sneaking up on a serial killer is not the best move in the world.

Oh, come on now. It's not like he even knows that he's a serial killer, and besides, this is still considered normal for him, he doesn't think about it in terms of people not being used to it, it just is.

He throws his hood back to retort, "Hey, I was just showing you what you asked for." Besides, payback for giving him the wrong type of heart, bitch. But not really.

As he's mentioned elsewhere, Rudy has slight control issues. And people showing up in his room, out of nowhere, kind of takes away one's sense of control.

"A little warning might've been nice," he grumbles.

Demyx kind of doesn't understand that sort of stuff all that much. And anyway, he can't hear all of your internal monologue. "Well, you did ask."

"That doesn't mean you have to invade my privacy." It's really for the best that Demyx can't hear his inner monologue. Brian is very, very thankful that though he's stuck telling the truth, he's still in control of how much truth he lets go of.

Demyx probably would not want to hear his inner monologue. But he also doesn't understand a lot of simple aspects of normal interaction. "Invade your privacy? I just stopped over because you asked how I could use darkness."

"I'm sure you could've found a way to explain it without just showing up here." Not that he was doing anything incriminating, or even that he could-- what with Deb, always Deb-- but it was the principle of the thing.

As snappish as he's being, he doesn't really seem angry. "Well, I'm sure it's a useful ability," he concedes.

Yeah, because of all the residents of the City, Demyx cares about him being snappish. "Well, last time I tried, but it didn't work, so I just demonstrated."

He grins at that last bit. "Yeah! It's pretty helpful. I mean, back home I used it to travel to other worlds, too, but that doesn't work out of the City. But everyone in the Organization can travel like that. I like my water and my sitar."
